If you want to see geysers, you should go to Iceland―this is where the word originated. Yes, the OG of all geysers, the Great Geysir, is so iconic that it gave its name to all geysers worldwide.
While Geysir itself is mostly dormant these days, the nearby Strokkur is really reliable, erupting every 5-10 minutes, and shooting hot water up to 30 meters into the air!
This site full of geothermal wonders has been wowing visitors for centuries, making Iceland a must-visit for anyone fascinated by the power of nature. So, if you’re in the area, don’t miss the chance to see these guys in action!
If you’re interested in more things Icelandic, read this post in my Journey Jots publication about my recent trip to Iceland:
My 91-year-old mother and 71-year-old sister recently cruised from New York to Iceland, and they both loved it. I think it was my sister's second trip there.
i'll bet it's beautiful. I remember learning that Iceland has grass and greenery and Greenland is ice... interesting
I know a lot of people don't believe in the flooding of the earth and Noah's Ark, but there's research that showed that a lot of these geysers or these crater light things did not come from meteors
that they were a result of when God flooded the Earth - not only did rain flood from above but the earth opened up and water shot up, sort of like this geyser, but in massive amounts of and that's where they originated from
I found that fascinating
Either case they are beautiful 😍
