In the heart of Belgium, in an area of just 1 square mile, there are around 380 diamond workshops and 1,500 companies, turning over 84% of all rough diamonds in the world. Welcome to Antwerp’s Diamond District!
This is the world's largest diamond hub, with trading history dating back to the 15th century. Although a good deal of gem cutting has shifted overseas, half of these diamonds still return to Antwerp for expert cutting and polishing, by a network of over 30.000 skilled workers in the Diamantkwartier.
