Every October, the historic town of Birgu (Vittoriosa) in Malta transforms into a magical wonderland during the Birgu Candle Festival, or Birgufest. Thousands of candles light up the streets, alleys, and landmarks, creating a unique atmosphere reminiscent of the town’s medieval charm.
The festival also includes open-air performances, historical reenactments, and access to museums and heritage sites. Visitors can enjoy local food stalls, live music, and the unique experience of exploring this ancient city by candlelight.
