Every August, the small town of Buñol hosts La Tomatina, a one-hour food fight involving over 100 tons of tomatoes. This quirky tradition started in the 1940s and has since become an internationally famous festival.
Participants fling tomatoes at one another in a chaotic yet fun-filled celebration. Although it’s messy, there’s a rule: you need to crush tomatoes before throwing to avoid injury.
After the battle, the streets are hosed down, leaving a fresh, tomato-scented town.

And one last thing - this publication will stay free forever, but if you feel I deserve a cup of matcha 🍵 here and there, then please buy me some - the next drink’s on me! ☕
