Malta’s traditional luzzu boats are as charming as they are practical.
These colorful wooden fishing boats, found in harbors like Marsaxlokk, have been used for centuries by Maltese fishermen. They are painted in bright hues of blue, yellow, red, and green for good luck.
Most luzzus feature the “Eye of Horus” painted on their bows, which is a tradition believed to protect fishermen at sea.
Although fishing is their primary use, these boats have become a cultural icon, and a favorite for travelers.

And one last thing - this publication will stay free forever, but if you feel I deserve a cup of matcha 🍵 here and there, then please buy me some - the next drink’s on me! ☕
